He has staffed 26 Final Fours, 14 Super Bowls, seven World Series and two Olympiads in addition to other major news and sporting events. Bud has interviewed renowned sports figures from A (Ali, Muhammad) to very nearly Z (Yaztrzemski, Carl). Prior to coming to Syracuse, he was a member of the San Diego Tribune’s reporting team that won a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the crash of a PSA jetliner. He has authored two books ("Purely Poliquin’’ and "Tales From the Syracuse Hardwood’) and writes a blog that appears virtually every day on syracuse.com. His expert views on Syracuse University football and basketball are staples of The Post-Standard's daily coverage.
